Andrea Gjestvang (NO)

Andrea Gjestvang is a Norwegian photographer based in Oslo. Her work moves between intimate documentary and long-term visual storytelling, focusing on how people live with conflict, loss and social change in in a contemporary global context, from Ukraine to East Africa.

Her visual language is quiet and close, shaped by sensitivity and presence, allowing complex human realities to unfold with dignity and depth.

Gjestvang is the author of Atlantic Cowboy (GOST Books) and the long-running project One Day in History. Her work has been exhibited internationally and published by The New York Times, National Geographic and Die Zeit.

Her presentation reflects on an attentive and intuitive approach — building trust over time and creating images that make viewers slow down.
